Supervision
The supervisors
Each of these people takes a small number of research students at a time. Read what they work on, then ask the one whose work sits closest to yours. They answer you themselves, and nothing is owed until an agreement has been issued and you have signed it.
What you are entering into
Supervision is a personal arrangement between you and the supervisor. The guidance, the academic judgement and the responsibility for both are theirs.
IBRTC's part is narrower. It records the arrangement, holds the agreement the two of you sign, and collects the fee on the supervisor's behalf. It does not employ supervisors, and it does not supervise you. Once the work is under way, your participation is written into your record at CISBM.
Each card shows that supervisor's fee. It is confirmed on the agreement they issue you, which you read and sign before anything is owed.
Who you can ask
Reading the directory.
Supervisors are being appointed.
There is nobody in the directory yet. You can still say what you are working on, and the Centre will put your request to the right person as soon as they are in place. If you expected to see someone here, reload the page.
The directory could not be read.
Something went wrong between this page and the database, which is usually the connection rather than anything you did. Reload the page, orask about supervision and the Centre will answer by hand.
